I am currently living in Corinth, Mississippi:
Corinth, MS sits in the North East corner of Mississippi near the intersection of Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
Corinth is at the crossroads of the former Memphis & Charleston Railroad and the Mobile & Ohio Railroad lines. This intersection made Corinth an important site during the American Civil War.
Corinth also lies at the intersection of U.S. 72 and U.S. 45. U.S. 72 runs from Memphis, TN to Chatanooga, TN. It was formerly part of the coast to coast “Lee Highway“. Growing up in Northern Virginia I was familiar with Lee Highway as a major route in the Northern Virginia Area.
U.S. 45 runs from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border. One of my bucket list items is to travel the length of U.S. 45.
Corinth itself is kind of sleepy. I think I could walk naked through downtown on a Sunday and nobody would notice. There’s not much action here. But there are some notable places and events both in town and near by.
Pickwick Lake is an impoundment of the Tennessee river. It stretches from Counce, TN to Florence, AL. The lake is 52.7 miles long. And if that isn’t enough to satisfy your wander lust, you can take your boat (if you have one) from Pickwick Lake all the way to the Gulf (of Mexico) Coast via a set of locks on the Tenn Tom (the Tennessee river and the Tombigbee waterway).
Borroum’s Drug Store

It’s an historic location in downtown Corinth, MS.
And yes, there are people in the place; lovely people in fact. The staff is hardworking and accommodating. I just don’t like to publish pictures of people without their knowledge.
